TRIATHLON ENGLAND NATIONAL RELAY CHAMPIONSHIP
This unmissable event on the tri season calendar, which is held in Nottingham each August, is the most amazing day out.
In an individual sport this is the perfect opportunity to race as a team with your friends and club mates.
There is the usual format and the COVID format, irrespective of which one is used, each athlete in a team of four will complete a super-sprint triathlon.
Each team member will swim 500m, bike 15km and run 5km.
The usual format is:
Each member of the team individually swims 500 metres before tagging their team mate, and so on, and so on, until all four people have completed the swim. Moving onto the 15km bike, each athlete individually completes the 15km bike, until the last team member then tags the first team member to start the 5km run section.
The COVID option is each athlete completes their Tri before their teammate takes over – a lot like the elite ITU Mixed Relay format.
It truly is an amazing day out!
